day will consider the conceptual and methodological issues involved in researching
regional and national cinemas and speakers will include: -

The training day coincides with the Irish Postgraduate Film Research Seminar,
a collaborative venture between Trinity College, Dublin and the Centre for Media
Research at the University of Ulster designed to provide a platform for the presentation
of new research by film scholars in Irish third-level institutions and those working
on Irish film topics in non-Irish universities and colleges.
Details
Research students currently enrolled at UK and Irish Universities can apply for
free admission to the Postgraduate Training Day (and also the Irish Postgraduate
Film Research Seminar). A
limited number of bursaries will also be available to contribute towards travel
and accommodation costs.
Applications are invited from UK and Irish-based postgraduate students working
in film and television studies, giving details of current enrolment in a higher
education institution, an academic CV and a brief statement of reasons for wishing
to apply for a bursary. The application should include an indication of approval
from the applicant's supervisor.
